There are far too many capable students not pursuing higher education opportunities in America. While improvements have been made in education, there still exist a large number of students who are ill-prepared to graduate from high school and even less prepared to matriculate to college. Talented youth from low-income families are far less likely than students from higher-income families to attend college, and even more unlikely to graduate. Research has found that youth from low-income families face obstacles in their family, community and school that affect many students reaching their educational goals. The purpose of The College Bound Project is to bridge the gap between the student and available resources, so that desiring students and their families are afforded the same opportunity as others to pursue a college education.
